Our family farm is looking for a reliable, experienced *Part-Time DZ Delivery Driver* to join our team on a temporary basis until approximately *mid-November*, with the potential to continue as a *permanent part-time position*. This position would be a great fit for someone looking for *flexible or occasional work to supplement their current schedule*. The primary responsibility of this position is delivering our fresh produce to restaurants, grocery stores and wholesalers throughout the GTA. Depending on our farm schedule, there may also be opportunities to assist on the farm, particularly during planting and harvest. We?re looking for someone who is dependable, personable and takes pride in doing their job well. Training will be provided to the right candidate. *Responsibilities include:* * Safely and efficiently delivering produce to customers * Loading and unloading the delivery truck * Bringing orders into restaurants and other customer locations ? must be comfortable regularly lifting *50 lb+ bags of produce* * Reviewing orders and delivery lists for accuracy before leaving the farm * Following assigned delivery routes and schedules * Providing friendly, professional customer service * Preparing invoices and accurately handling cash/payments when required * Maintaining delivery logs and required records * Completing vehicle inspections and following all transportation and safety requirements * Communicating with customers regarding deliveries when necessary * Occasionally assisting around the farm, including driving field trucks, working on our produce line, loading trucks or helping during planting and harvest * Operating equipment such as forklifts when required *What we're looking for:* * Valid *Ontario DZ driver's licence* * Clean driving record ? must be able to provide a current *driver's abstract and CVOR Driver Abstract (CVDR)* * Commercial driving experience; *5+ years DZ experience preferred* * Reliable, responsible and highly trustworthy * Strong communication and customer-service skills * Comfortable driving throughout the GTA and navigating different routes * Physically capable of repeatedly lifting and carrying 50 lb+ * Able to work independently while also being a team player * Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment * Strong attention to detail with orders, invoices and customer requests * Forklift/heavy-equipment experience is an asset *Position:* Temporary Part-Time *Term:* Now through approximately mid-November *Potential:* Opportunity to continue as permanent part-time *Location:* Simpson Family Farms *Schedule:* Flexible/varied based on delivery and farm needs If you're an experienced DZ driver looking for *flexible, occasional work with a local family farm*, we'd love to hear from you.
