Education: College/CEGEP. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Industrial. Tasks: Interpret welding process specifications. Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment. Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications. Computer-aided design (CAD). Operate brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines. Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC). Determine weldability of materials. Operate hoisting and lifting equipment. Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products. Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment. Read blueprint, schemas and drawings. Fit and weld parts together. Read blueprints and drawings. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Occupational Health and Safety Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Forklift Operator Certification. Type of materials: Stainless steel. Steel, iron and heavy metals. Computer and technology knowledge: AutoCAD. Equipment and machinery experience: Soldering machine. Area of specialization: Custom fabrication. Machinery or equipment repair. Structural construction. Factory assembly. Fencing, balconies, stairs and railings. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Valid driver's licence.
