<p>Position Summary The Eclipse Foundation is seeking a Front-End Web Developer to join our Software Development team and help build and maintain the web platforms, reusable components, and tools that support the Eclipse Foundation and its communities.</p><p>This is an existing role on the team.</p><p>You will work on a range of public-facing websites and web applications, as well as shared front-end infrastructure used across our web properties.</p><p>This includes developing reusable components, integrating with REST APIs, maintaining our component library, improving existing websites and applications, and helping establish consistent front-end development practices.</p><p>You will work closely with other developers and internal stakeholders in a geographically distributed team.</p><p>Much of our work is developed in the open, and we value pragmatic solutions, maintainable code, good documentation, and continuous improvement.</p><p>About the Eclipse Foundation The Eclipse Foundation is a globally recognised nonprofit organisation that supports a vibrant community of open source projects and contributors.</p><p>With a commitment to vendor neutrality and transparency, we provide a collaborative environment for innovation across industries including cloud, edge, AI, and developer tooling.</p><p>Our team is remote-first, collaborative, and passionate about open source.</p><p>Salary Range : $65,000 to $85,000 CAD / €40,000 to €50,000 Location: This is a remote position.</p><p>The selected candidate will work from their home office.</p><p>All qualified candidates will be considered, with preference for candidates based in Canada (Ottawa), France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Belgium.</p><p>Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain reusable front-end components and libraries used across Eclipse Foundation websites and applications.</p><p>Contribute to the evolution and maintenance of our front-end design system and component library.</p><p>Develop responsive, accessible, and standards-compliant user interfaces.</p><p>Build and maintain front-end applications and reusable components that integrate with REST APIs and work across different web platforms and frameworks.</p><p>Write clean, maintainable, and testable JavaScript and TypeScript code.</p><p>Develop and maintain automated tests for front-end components and applications.</p><p>Document components, development patterns, APIs, and technical decisions.</p><p>Review code and contribute to shared development standards and best practices.</p><p>Collaborate with designers, developers, and internal stakeholders to understand requirements and develop appropriate solutions.</p><p>Work with stakeholders and other developers to prioritise requests, clarify requirements, and balance competing needs.</p><p>Diagnose and resolve front-end defects, performance issues, and browser compatibility problems.</p><p>Improve web accessibility, performance, search engine optimisation, and overall user experience.</p><p>Contribute improvements and fixes to open source projects used by the Eclipse Foundation when appropriate.</p><p>Evaluate new technologies and recommend their adoption when they provide clear benefits.</p><p>Required Skills and Experience At least two years of professional web development experience.</p><p>Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end development practices.</p><p>Experience developing applications with React.</p><p>Experience with TypeScript.</p><p>Experience designing and developing reusable UI components.</p><p>Experience integrating applications with REST APIs.</p><p>Experience writing automated tests and testable front-end code.</p><p>Understanding of responsive web design and modern browser standards.</p><p>Understanding of web accessibility principles and practices.</p><p>Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows using platforms such as GitHub or GitLab.</p><p>Ability to troubleshoot front-end issues us- Location Ottawa, ON
