Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. Work setting: Willing to relocate. Relocation costs not covered by employer. Tasks: Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions. Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required. Order parts and maintain inventory. Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts. Keep maintenance reports and documentation. Welding experience. Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications. Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work. Perform repair work on heavy trucks. Service attachments and working tools. Perform other routine maintenance. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Commercial Vehicle Inspection Certificate. Diesel engine repair specialization: Fuel injection system. Exhaust system. Cooling system. Air conditioning system. Lubrication system. Engine control system. Major internal engine repairs or overhaul. Installation and alignment of engines and machinery. Powered equipment repair specialization: Cable-operated working attachments. Hydraulic-operated working attachments. Compressors. Pumps. Electric generators. Industrial lift trucks and fork-lifts. Mechanical maintenance and repair specialization: Mechanical transmissions.
