Odia<br/> <strong>Type:</strong> <strong>Contract</strong><br/> <strong>Compensation:</strong> <strong>$13/hour</strong><br/> <strong>Location:</strong> <strong>Remote</strong></p> <p><strong>Role Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Source documents: Find a publicly accessible <strong>Odia PDF</strong> in an assigned document type with multimodal elements. Record the source.</li> <li>Annotate structure: Identify and bound every meaningful region of the page. Assign each a component type and a reading-order index.</li> <li>Record relationships: Link each region to its parent component, such as a figure or table.</li> <li>Transcribe faithfully: Reproduce all text exactly as it appears in <strong>Odia script</strong>, including handwritten content. Flag any illegible regions.</li> <li>Capture page metadata: Document language, type, source, page dimensions, and flags for tables, formulas, and handwriting.</li> <li>Review a colleague's work: Conduct end-to-end reviews of tasks by a second <strong>Odia expert</strong>.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> <p><strong>Must-Have</strong></p> <ul> <li>Native <strong>Odia</strong> speaker with full command of the script.</li> <li>Experience in annotation, transcription, translation, localization, subtitling, proofreading, journalism, or regional-language data review.</li> <li>Exact character-level accuracy.</li> <li>Systematic application of taxonomy across pages.</li> <li>Comfort with unfamiliar layouts like multi-column newspapers and handwritten forms.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience with regional-language <strong>AI data</strong> annotation, labeling, grading, or bilingual evaluation.</li> <li>Skills in transcription and localization: <strong>MTPE</strong>, subtitling, bilingual QA, <strong>OCR</strong> correction, or post-editing.</li> <li>Document production skills: typesetting, copy-editing, proofreading, or digitization of <strong>Odia-language</strong> material.</li> <li>Knowledge of script and encoding: <strong>Unicode normalization</strong>, <strong>Odia input methods</strong>, numeral-form, and character-form accuracy.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Application Process (Takes 20?30 mins to complete)</strong></p> <ul> <li>Upload resume</li> <li>AI interview based on your resume</li> <li>Submit form</li> </ul> <p><strong>Resources & Support</strong></p> <ul> <li>For details about the interview process and platform information, please check: https://talent.docs.mercor.com/welcome</li> <li>For any help or support, reach out to: support@mercor.com</li> </ul> <p><em>PS: Our team reviews applications daily.
