Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Install roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings. Install single-ply roofing system using waterproof sheet materials, such as modified plastics, elastomeric or other asphaltic compositions. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Repair or replace single-ply roofing systems. Repair roofing systems. Instruct apprentices. Supervise other workers. Install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools. Install sheet metal flashings. Estimate costs and materials. Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. 3-4 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Fall Arrest Protection Training Course. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Physically demanding. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Hand-eye co-ordination. Handling heavy loads. Repetitive tasks. Work under pressure. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Tools. Steel-toed safety boots. Hard hat. Personal suitability: Client focus. Dependability.
