*Lower Mainland Purpose Society for Youth and Families (Purpose Society)* Finance Manager Work Site: 40 Begbie Street, New Westminster (in office) Wage: $50.00 to $60.00 per hour Hours: 35 hours per week (Full time) *Who We Are* Purpose Society is a community-based multi-service organization dedicated to delivering comprehensive programs for children, youth, and families. Our services are provided in a safe, respectful environment that values diversity and community connection. *The Opportunity* We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to oversee the Society's accounting and financial operations. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Finance Manager is responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, funder reporting, audit, internal controls, and supervision of the accounting team. The Finance Manager will also provide financial information and advice to management, program directors, and the Board. *What You'll Do* * Lead the daily operations of the accounting department, including priorities, deadlines, and staff supervision. * Oversee month-end and year-end close processes and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting. * Prepare and review financial statements, budgets, forecasts, cash flow analysis, and variance reports. * Lead the annual budgeting process and support program directors and management with budget planning and financial decision-making. * Monitor grants, contracts, restricted funds, and funding requirements to ensure accurate tracking and reporting. * Review and submit financial reports to government and other funders and respond to financial inquiries. * Lead the annual external audit and coordinate required schedules, working papers, and documentation. * Ensure compliance with Accounting Standards for Not-for-Profit Organizations (ASNPO), funding agreements, legislation, and organizational financial policies. * Maintain and improve accounting procedures, internal controls, systems, and processes. * Oversee payroll-related accounting and financial reporting. * Supervise, train, and support accounting staff and ensure appropriate coverage of accounting functions. * Provide financial advice and analysis to the Executive Director, management, and Board. * Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting, systems, processes, and controls. * Support other financial projects and reporting requirements as needed. *What We Are Looking For* * Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in good standing. * Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting and financial management experience in a non-profit or charitable organization. * Experience with government-funded programs, grants, contracts, restricted funding, and fund accounting. * Strong knowledge of Accounting Standards for Not-for-Profit Organizations (ASNPO), financial reporting, and internal controls. * Experience preparing financial statements and managing month-end, year-end, and external audit processes. * Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and variance analysis. * Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities while maintaining accuracy. * Experience preparing or reviewing financial reports for government and other funders. * Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software. * Experience supervising and developing accounting staff. * Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. * Ability to work effectively with staff, management, auditors, funders, and the Board. *Preferred* * Experience working in a multi-program social service organization. * Working knowledge of Sage 300 (Payables, Receivables, Bank, and General Ledger modules). * Experience with payroll oversight and accounting process improvements. *Why Work With Us* Join our mission-driven organization and help create- Location New Westminster, BC
