Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: Construction. Tasks: Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Carpenter Trade Certification. Carpenter Red Seal Certificate. Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Work with minimal supervision. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Accurate. Efficient interpersonal skills.
