<p><strong>This is a fully remote position</strong>, open to candidates based in Canada.</p><p><strong>Pay:</strong> $30?$100/hr</p><p>Role Title: Autodesk Inventor Specialist</p><p>Role Type: Contractor</p><p>Location: Remote</p><p>We are engaging Autodesk Inventor Specialists to contribute to a customer-focused project involving advanced mechanical design. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required ? your domain knowledge is what matters.</p><p><strong>Note on Software:</strong> We're looking for experts with strong 3D parametric CAD modelling experience ? for example, in Autodesk Inventor Specialist. This experience is directly transferable to FreeCAD, which is the software this project will focus on. Prior FreeCAD experience is ideal.</p><p>Scope of Work</p><ol><li>Develop fully-parametric 3D CAD models of mechanical parts and assemblies based on detailed written briefs using Autodesk Inventor (or comparable platforms).</li><li>Edit and update existing models to reflect revised requirements, ensuring all changes remain fully parametric and in line with best practices.</li><li>Audit and review CAD models for compliance with dimensional, tolerance, and manufacturability criteria, identifying and documenting any gaps or issues.</li><li>Create and interpret detailed technical drawings, applying ASME Y14.5 or equivalent GD&T standards.</li><li>Ensure robust Design for Manufacturability (DFM) considerations across processes such as injection molding, sheet metal, CNC machining, and casting/forging.</li><li>Support AI training initiatives by providing clear documentation and rationale for design decisions, edits, and audits.</li><li>Communicate effectively in written and verbal formats, delivering precise feedback and solution-oriented insights to project stakeholders.</li></ol><p>Preferred Qualifications</p><ol><li>Minimum 4 years of hands-on parametric modeling experience for edit-level tasks; 10+ years for complex creation work.</li><li>Expertise in Autodesk Inventor, with fluency in similar platforms like FreeCAD, SolidWorks, or Fusion 360 considered highly relevant.</li><li>Demonstrated proficiency with GD&T (ASME Y14.5 or equivalent), with practical, real-world application.</li><li>Proven DFM experience covering at least two to three manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, sheet metal, CNC, casting).</li><li>Experience with reverse engineering workflows, such as scan-to-CAD or point cloud-to-model reconstruction.</li><li>Ability to manage assembly-level designs and complex mechanical systems, not just single-part modeling.</li><li>Familiarity with CAD automation, scripting (Python, iLogic, VBA, NX Open), or similar tools for enhancing workflow efficiency.</li></ol> <p><strong>How to apply</strong></p> <p>Apply here with your Indeed profile.
