<p><strong>This is a fully remote position</strong>, open to candidates based in Canada.</p><p><strong>Pay:</strong> $40?$100/hr</p><p>Role Title: Manufacturing Design Engineer</p><p>Role Type: Contractor</p><p>Location: Remote</p><p>We are engaging Manufacturing Design Engineer experts to contribute to a customer?s project focused on advanced mechanical design for manufacturing. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required ? your domain knowledge is what matters. Participants will leverage proficiency in FreeCAD or similar parametric CAD platforms to design, document, and validate production-ready components and assemblies. This opportunity is ideal for professionals passionate about precision engineering, technical documentation, and advancing the future of intelligent design tools.</p><p>Scope of Work</p><ol><li>Create and modify detailed parametric 3D CAD models of mechanical parts and assemblies using FreeCAD or comparable software.</li><li>Develop comprehensive engineering drawings, including GD&T and tolerance stack-ups, suitable for manufacturing handoff.</li><li>Design for a variety of manufacturing processes, such as sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, plastics, and injection molding.</li><li>Perform CAD validation and quality assurance reviews to ensure model accuracy and readiness for production use.</li><li>Prepare clear, concise technical documentation and assembly instructions as reference materials for AI model training.</li><li>Incorporate feedback from technical reviewers to revise and improve CAD models and supporting documents.</li></ol><p>Preferred Qualifications</p><ol><li>Minimum 2 years? experience designing mechanical components for manufacturing environments.</li><li>Expertise in FreeCAD or similar parametric CAD software for advanced modeling, assemblies, and drawing generation.</li><li>Hands-on exposure to sheet metal, CNC, plastics, and injection molding design considerations.</li><li>Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) best practices.</li><li>Proven ability to produce production-grade CAD models and validate them against real-world manufacturability criteria.</li><li>Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, ensuring clarity in documentation and collaborative exchanges.</li></ol> <p><strong>How to apply</strong></p> <p>Apply here with your Indeed profile.
