Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Odours. Dusty. Work setting: On-site customer service. Commercial. Residential. Various locations. Tasks: Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Measure, cut and fasten underlay and underpadding. Prepare flooring plans and scheduling. Prepare tenders and quotations. Measure, cut and install resilient floor coverings. Prepare and install hardwood floors. Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings. Conduct moisture, ph, temperature and other tests prior to flooring installations. Estimate costs and materials. Prepare floors for installations. Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants. Install resilient stair components (special effects for the visually impaired). Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : First Aid Certificate. Installation specialization: Vinyl or resilient tiles. Vinyl or resilient sheets. Hardwood strip flooring. Borders or feature strips. Parquet flooring. Security and safety: Bondable. Basic security clearance. Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Own transportation. Own vehicle. Willing to travel. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Ability to distinguish between colours. Hand-eye co-ordination. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Safety equipment/gear. Steel-toed safety boots. Hard hat. Gloves. Mask. Personal suitability: Client focus.
