Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Confined spaces. Wet/damp. Work setting: Private fish hatchery. Commercial aquatic farm. Tasks: Clean, sanitize and dry aquaculture equipment before the next use to prevent the introduction of pathogens and disease. Feed aquaculture stock. Maintain aquaculture equipment. Write daily basic progress reports. Clean and maintain aquaculture enclosures. Dig shellfish from shellfish beds. Clean, sort and pack shellfish. Assist aquaculture technicians in the operation of fish hatcheries or other aquatic farms. Grade and weigh aquaculture stocks. Type of aquaculture operations: Aquaculture — halibut. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Repetitive tasks. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Ability to distinguish between colours. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Weight handling: Up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs). Personal suitability: Dependability. Efficient interpersonal skills. Flexibility.
