Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Offshore drilling rig. Tasks: Supervise and co-ordinate activities of deck crews. Ensure safety and comfort of passengers. Determine geographical position using navigational instruments, maps and charts. Maintain vessel's navigational instruments and equipment. Control, steer and navigate a vessel in various waterways. Enforce regulations in Canadian waters. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Transport Canada Certificate of Competency.
