Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Odours. Dusty. Hot. Cold/refrigerated. Confined spaces. Work setting: Commercial. Residential. Tasks: Select type of insulation required. Measure and cut insulating materials to required shape and dimensions using hand and power tools. Apply and secure insulation using spraying, blowing, pasting, strapping, taping and other application and installation methods. Fit insulation around obstructions and between joists and studs. Install vapour barriers and fire-retardant materials. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Area of specialization: Spraying and blowing insulation. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Overtime required. Own tools/equipment: Safety equipment/gear. Steel-toed safety boots.
