Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Installation. Service. Repair. Tasks: Measure and mark sheet metal according to template. Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal. Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces. Inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specification. Assemble, erect and install hoisting and rigging equipment. Fit and join sheet metal parts. Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Specialization or experience: Custom sheet metal items. Eavestroughing and flashing. Screening questions: Are you currently legally able to work in Canada?. Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years. Support for newcomers and refugees: Recruits newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster (for example: Ukraine, Afghanistan, etc.) . Provides diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees . Support for youths: Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
