Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Diagnose any behaviour disorders
  • Supervise graduate students, research assistants, para-professional staff and other psychologists
  • Use standard psychological tests for assessment
  • Provide therapy
  • Counsel individuals and groups to achieve more effective personal, social and vocational development and adjustment
  • Apply psychological theory and principles regarding behaviour and mental processes
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Administer standard psychological tests for assessment
  • Interpret test results

Supervision

  • 3-4 people

Credentials

Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses 

  • Provincial or territorial Psychologist's Certificate of Registration
  • Membership in a provincial or territorial psychological association
  • Membership in the Canadian Psychological Association
