Education: Master's degree. Work setting: Clinic. Independent or private practice. Tasks: Diagnose any behaviour disorders. Supervise graduate students, research assistants, para-professional staff and other psychologists. Use standard psychological tests for assessment. Provide therapy. Counsel individuals and groups to achieve more effective personal, social and vocational development and adjustment. Apply psychological theory and principles regarding behaviour and mental processes. Maintain accurate records. Administer standard psychological tests for assessment. Interpret test results. Supervision: 3-4 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Provincial or territorial Psychologist's Certificate of Registration. Membership in a provincial or territorial psychological association. Membership in the Canadian Psychological Association. Type of treatment experience: Client-centered or humanistic/experiential therapy. Cognitive therapy. Crisis intervention counselling. Eclectic therapy. Psychotherapy. Brief therapy. Systematic/interactional therapy. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Child Abuse Registry check. Basic security clearance. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment.
