Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Automobile/automotive mechanics technology/technician. Diesel mechanics technology/technician. High performance and custom engine technician/mechanic. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit. Inspect mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions. Review work orders . Road test motor vehicles . Test automotive systems and components. Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems. Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems. Repair or replace mechanical units or components. Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications. Test and adjust units to specifications. Complete reports to record problems and work performed. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Automotive Service Technician Red Seal Certificate. Area of specialization: Engine repair. 4-wheel drive. Electrical and electronic system. Diesel engines. Diagnostics. Alignment, steering and suspension. Brake system. Fuel and emission system. Ignition and electrical system. Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system.
