Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work site environment: Outdoors. Work setting: Relocation costs not covered by employer. Willing to relocate. Tasks: Direct planting of trees, gardens and lawns. Hire, supervise and schedule staff. Organize planting of trees, gardens and lawns. Resolve work problems by providing technical advice to increase the value and functionality of a property. Schedule events, programs and activities. Schedule work. Plan and direct grounds maintenance. Plan and estimate labour and materials. Organize and direct construction of decks and decorative or retaining walls. Plan, manage and supervise landscape construction work. Maintain work records and logs. Tender and administer contracts. Read blueprints and drawings. Repair and maintain equipment. Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies. Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Supervision: 3-4 people. Equipment and machinery experience: Backhoe. Chain saw. Forklift. Front end loader. Pick-up truck. Small engine equipment. Sod cutter. Tractor. Tractor mower. Skidsteer. Area of specialization: Interior landscaping. Lawn care. Tree service. Grounds maintenance. Design. Landscape construction. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Vehicle supplied by employer. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Tight deadlines. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity.
