Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Residential. Commercial. Various locations. Tasks: Operate woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, mortisers and shapers, to cut, shape and form parts and components. Study plans, specifications or drawings of articles to be made. Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain or polish to finished products; prepare and apply laminated plastics. Maintain clean and safe work environment. Estimate costs and materials. Repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures and related products. Security and safety: Reference required. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Manual dexterity. Attention to detail.
