Job details
Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or optometry. Work setting: Urban area. Clinic. Tasks: Diagnose diseases and physiological disorders. May conduct medical research on human disorders, illnesses, preventive or curative methods. Prescribe medication and treatment . Refer patients for surgery. Treat diseases and physiological disorders . Act as consultants to other physicians. Order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures. Advise patients on health care. Prescribe and administer medications and treatments. Provide counselling and support to patients and their families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues. Provide emergency care. Provide acute care management. Order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures to determine the most appropriate medical treatment . Help patients develop healthy habits, break old habits and reshape their approach to wellness. Examine patients' health condition to identify diseases and injuries . Collect medical information from patients, family members, or other medical professionals. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification Examination. Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities.
