Education: College/CEGEP. Tasks: Analyze the client's eyeglasses or contact lenses and by measuring the client's eye curvature, pupillary distance and bridge width, using optical measuring devices. Supervise or manage activities of other opticians or student opticians. Assist clients in selecting eyeglasses. Adjust finished eyeglasses to fit client. May perform a variety of office management and clerical duties. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities. Personal suitability: Accurate. Dependability. Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Interpersonal awareness. Judgement. Reliability. Team player. Screening questions: Are you currently legally able to work in Canada?. Do you have previous experience in this field of employment?. Do you have the above-indicated required certifications?.
