Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Operate and drive automobiles, vans and light trucks to pick up and deliver various items and products. Professionalism in customer service. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Load and unload goods. Use maps and other trip planning aids. Record trip information such as vehicle mileage, fuel costs and any problems. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Air Brakes Endorsement. Class 3/3F/DF Licence (trailer truck, vehicles with more than 3 axles). Driver's License (Class 3 or D). Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Vehicle supplied by employer. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Fast-paced environment. Tight deadlines. Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Overtime required. Walking. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Cellular phone. Gloves. Personal suitability: Client focus. Efficient interpersonal skills. Flexibility.
