The successful candidate will be committed to working with all team members to provide safe and quality client care. The Nurse Collegian will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centred care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements. Job Demands: ? Dependent on area of work, include but not limited to): ? Accountable for all assigned aspects of care for assigned clients. ? Accepts responsibility for own actions and working within scope of practice. ? Informs appropriate personnel regarding level of preparation and ability to perform nursing actions. ? Assesses clients and communicates the assessment in an orderly and timely manner to appropriate persons. ? Recognizes the psychosocial and spiritual needs of the client. ? Attends change of shift report to receive/clarify assignment. ? In collaboration with registered nurses, assists in the formulation of a nursing care plan. ? Performs other related duties as required. Job Qualifications:? ? Successful completion of the first year (Nurse Collegian I), second year (Nurse Collegian II) or third year (Nurse Collegian III) of a recognized nursing program. ? Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills. ? Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or willingness to complete in time specified by employer; ? Consistent demonstration of the core values of NL Health Services: Innovation, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence (I CARE)? The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct.
