<p>DESCRIPTION<br>The person in this position assesses the physical condition of users and designs safe physical activity programs that are adapted to their needs in order to develop an autonomous practice of significant and sustainable physical activities. They establish a treatment and intervention plan involving physical activity. They promote the benefits of physical activity and healthy lifestyle habits to improve health.</p><p>SPECIFIC DUTIES* Design, develop and promote programs to encourage physical activity and employee wellness, with an emphasis on Cree culture and traditions;* Determine material and human resource requirements for various activities;* Evaluate physical health needs based on the realities of the territory and employees;* Organize activity groups in the various communities in the James Bay territory;* Develop partnerships with various community stakeholders such as welcoming agents, training centres, aquatic centres, etc.;* Develop and collect data and statistics related to the physical activity and programs deployed;* Prepare and deliver presentations to various CBHSSJB departments;* Work closely with other members of the Occupational Health, Safety and Wellness departments; to ensure a comprehensive, multidisciplinary service;* Develop and design strategies to promote physical health and wellness among employees through sports, outdoor activities, nutrition, etc.;* Collaborate on the development of various tools related to healthy lifestyle habits;* Respond to specific employee needs related to physical health and wellness;* Act as a consultant for managers on physical health issues.</p><p>Education:</p><ul><li>Must hold a bachelor's degree in physical education, kinesiology or another appropriate university discipline.</li></ul><p>Experience:</p><ul><li>Two (2) years of relevant experience;</li><li>Experience with interdisciplinary work.</li></ul><p>Knowledge and skills:</p><ul><li>Sound knowledge of kinesiology theory and practice, current trends, the MSSS network and regulations;</li><li>Good client approach;</li><li>Recognized as a mobilizing, creative and innovative leader; </li><li>Good ability to work in a team and develop partnerships;</li><li>Strong analysis and synthesis skills; </li><li>Good working group facilitation skills;</li><li>Knowledge of occupational health and safety laws and regulations as well as current collective agreements in the health and social services network;</li><li>Knowledge of First Nations health and social services models, trends and issues are an asset;</li><li>Knowledge of the Cree culture, traditional healing, language, health and social issues in Eeyou Istchee is an asset;</li><li>Excellent communication, leadership and teamwork skills;</li><li>Excellent capacity for planning and decision making;</li><li>Good knowledge of Office suite software.</li></ul><p>LANGUAGES* Fluency in English; * Good knowledge of spoken French;* Fluency in the Cree language, an asset.</p><p>OTHER* Available to travel as needed.</p>
