*Job Overview:*
The Maintenance Millwright is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of our production equipment and facilities. This role is critical for minimizing downtime, ensuring equipment performance, and supporting a safe work environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, with experience in food manufacturing or a similar industry, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
*Responsibilities:*
* Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on plant equipment, including mixers, conveyors, packaging machines, and other industrial machinery.
* Diagnose mechanical issues and make necessary repairs to minimize production downtime.
* Install, align, and secure equipment such as pumps, motors, and belts as needed.
* Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals to accurately troubleshoot and repair equipment.
* Conduct routine inspections of machinery to identify and resolve potential issues proactively.
* Collaborate with production and quality teams to ensure machinery meets operational and quality standards.
* Maintain accurate maintenance records, documenting all repairs, replacements, and adjustments made.
* Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
* Assist in equipment upgrades and improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
* Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and support production demands as required.
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute ideas for increasing equipment reliability.
*Qualifications:*
* Red Seal Certification as an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) or equivalent certification.
* 3+ years of experience as a millwright, preferably in a food production or manufacturing environment.
* Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with troubleshooting industrial equipment.
* Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including blueprints and schematics.
* Proficiency in using hand tools, welding equipment, and other millwright tools.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Knowledge of safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if required.
*Preferred Skills:*
* Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automated machinery.
* Familiarity with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) standards.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
