Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. Work setting: Industrial. Tasks: Installs valves, alarms and associated equipment. Test system for leaks using air or liquid pressure equipment. Install supports, valves, piping and control systems. Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size. Test system for leaks using testing equipment. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Steamfitter and Pipefitter Trade Certification. Steamfitter and Pipefitter Red Seal Certificate. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Tight deadlines. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Hand-eye co-ordination. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots.
