*Job Overview* We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team. As a Barista, you will play a crucial role in creating an inviting atmosphere for our customers while preparing high-quality beverages and food items. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring that every guest enjoys their experience at our café. *Duties* * Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to established recipes and customer preferences. * Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently for order taking and payment processing. * Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including equipment, utensils, and dining spaces. * Handle food preparation tasks, including preparing light snacks as needed. * Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and health standards during food handling and preparation. * Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders accurately, and addressing any inquiries or concerns. * Manage cash handling responsibilities, including balancing cash drawers at the end of shifts. * Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours while effectively managing time to meet service goals. *Requirements* * Previous experience in the food industry or food service is preferred but not mandatory. * Familiarity with POS systems and cashiering practices is beneficial. * Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. * Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing. * Knowledge of food safety practices is a plus; certification in food handling is desirable. * Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanor to create a welcoming environment for customers. * Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed. Job Type: Part-time Pay: $17.40-$21.00 per hour Expected hours: No more than 30 per week Additional pay: * Tips Schedule: * Monday to Friday * Weekends as needed Work Location: In person
