Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Non-smoking. Outdoors. Noisy. Confined spaces. Hot. Tasks: Develop specific plans to prioritize. Drive and operate ramp-servicing vehicles and equipment. Load cargo and passenger baggage efficiently. Organize tasks to accomplish the work. Oversee the service provided is in line with standards, including maximization of available space, load control, safety and ad hoc flight instruction. Sort cargo and passenger baggage according to instructions. Position passenger loading stairs and operate aircraft cargo doors. Co-ordinate activities with other work units or departments. Marshall or tow aircraft to gate positions. Prepare and submit reports. Ensure smooth operation of computer equipment and machinery. Unload, sort and route cargo and passenger baggage. Transport freight between aircraft and airport warehouse. Clean and prepare aircraft interior for passengers and wash aircraft exterior. Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Operate forklift. Vehicle and equipment experience: Towing tractors. De-icing sprayers. Lavatory servicing trucks. Aircraft cargo doors. Passenger loading stairs. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Airport security clearance. Driver's validity licence check. Medical exam. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Driver's abstract. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure.
