Job details
Education: Bachelor's degree. Pharmacy (PharmD, BS, BSc, BPharm). Work setting: Community or retail pharmacy. Tasks: Advise customers on indications, contraindications, adverse effects, drug interactions and dosage. Dispense prescribed pharmaceuticals to customers or to other health care professionals. Advise customers on selection and use of non-prescription medication. Check prescriptions for proper dosage. Compound prescribed pharmaceutical products by calculating, measuring and mixing the right quantities of drugs and other ingredients. Maintain medication profiles of customers including registry of poisons and narcotic and controlled drugs. Manage the storage, packaging and distribution of medicinal products . Develop information materials concerning the uses, properties and risks of particular drugs. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Standing for extended periods. Personal suitability: Client focus. Efficient interpersonal skills.
