*Key Contributions:*
* Assist with the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and general ledger
* Assist with month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
* Prepare monthly reconciliations, cash flow projections and working papers
* Prepare CAM (common area maintenance) reconciliations and tenant recoveries
* Timely entry of all property tenant related transactions
* Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to system enhancements
* Assist the Controller and Director of Finance with ad hoc analysis, special projects and strategic initiatives
* Ensure timely filing of regulatory reports, including GST filings, property taxes and other statutory requirements
* Assist with year-end audit and tax preparation, including liaising with external auditors
* Maintain and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance

Starting wage is between $70,000-$90,000 per annum, plus annual bonus. Wages may be scaled based on relevant experience.
*Education:*
* Bachelor?s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
* CPA designation (completed or in progress)
*Experience:*
* 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience
* Prior experience in real estate accounting (property management and/or real estate development strongly preferred)
* Solid understanding of full-cycle accounting and financial reporting
*Technical Skills:*
* Knowledge of real estate-specific accounting treatments (e.g., revenue recognition on development projects, capitalization of costs, tenant recoveries and CAM reconciliations)
* Understanding of tax implications specific to real estate entities (preferred)
* Strong proficiency with accounting software; experience with SAP Business One is an asset
* Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
