*Overview: *Burwood Distillery is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive *Bookkeeper* to manage day-to-day and monthly accounting functions, with a strong focus on accuracy, timeliness, and communication with internal partners. This role is vital in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting business operations through diligent record keeping, reconciliations, and reporting.
*Key Responsibilities:*
*Sales & Revenue Tracking*
* Enter daily sales for all operations.
* Reconcile daily sales summaries, including payment methods, server-specific payments, and tip tracking.
* Enter payments and deposits received.
* Reconcile all party bookings and ensure proper postings to guest accounts.
* Track accounts receivable, and follow up on overdue payments.
*Expense Management & Reconciliations*
* Process accounts payable transactions through DEXT and accounting software, including verifying invoices, obtaining approvals, and issuing payments in a timely manner.
* Make AGLC payments on a weekly basis across Burwood and miscellaneous accounts.
* Monitor petty cash and floats?refill and post transactions as needed.
*Payroll & Tips*
* Track and reconcile employee tips and commissions, including house tip breakdowns.
* Process payments via the Tips Today platform.
*Banking & Cash Handling*
* Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
* Enter safe transactions and conduct weekly cash counts and bank deposits.
* Review bank activity weekly to ensure all payments are recorded and accurate.
*General Administration*
* Monitor and respond to accounting-related emails and inquiries in a timely manner.
* Support month-end and year-end financial reviews or audits as necessary.
* Data entry as required.
* Documenting policies and procedures.
*Qualifications:*
* Proven experience as a bookkeeper or similar role.
* Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Dext, POS systems).
* Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
* Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
* Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
* Good communication skills for liaising with partners, vendors, and team members.
*Preferred Assets:*
* Experience in hospitality, retail, or food & beverage industry.
* Familiarity with AGLC compliance and reporting.
