The Kootenay Co-op is looking for a Grocery Clerk to join the Grocery Team! Do you have an interest in natural + organic foods? Do you like teamwork? Can you lift up to 25 lbs safely? Apply now! The following position is for 16-20 hours a week, evening and weekend availability required. *SKILLS + QUALIFICATIONS* * Team oriented * Efficient methods for the stocking and rotation of perishable products * Impeccable attendance & punctuality; ability to clock-in/out accurately * Knowledge of whole, natural, and organic foods * Excellent customer service skills and the ability to develop and maintain favorable relations with customers, staff, and vendors * Cooperative, respectful communication skills * Ability to approach problems with a positive attitude and have creative, constructive solutions on hand * Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm manner * Flexible in the face of variable work requirements, able to maintain high level of productivity. *DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES* * Excellent customer service skills * Stock product * Ensure grocery, bulk, cooler and freezer departments of the store are well rotated, fronted, faced and cleaned at all times * Provide excellent customer service to member and non-member shoppers * Monitor perishables and near date products and take appropriate actions to minimize loss * Follow proper back stock procedures (block, condense, rotate, etc.) * Create and maintain visually appealing monthly displays to promote product specials *WHY WORK AT THE KOOTENAY CO-OP?* Employees of the Co-op are truly unique.
