*Summary*
We are seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to join our team at Binkadi Community Services. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth operation of our accounting processes. Your contributions will directly support our mission of providing quality care to vulnerable individuals in the Greater Victoria area.
*Responsibilities*
* Perform daily accounting tasks, including processing accounts payable, reconciling bank transactions, and preparing deposits.
* Perform bank reconciliations and ensure all accounts are balanced.
* Support the annual budget process and monitor variances.
* Collaborate with budget holders to establish budgets, monitoring variances, forecasts, and day-to-day accounting activities
* Prepare financial reports and assist with account analysis as needed.
* Utilize accounting software for daily transactions.
* Handle payroll submission and ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
* Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts to support financial planning.
*Requirements*
* *Education/Experience*
* Post-Secondary Diploma/degree in Accounting or related field.
2 to 3 years of experience
*Skills/Abilities*
* Knowledge of Generalized Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
* Experience with budgeting, payroll administration, and financial software (Sage 300).
* Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Working knowledge of applicable statutory legislation and regulations.
* Basic understanding of the social services sector
* Strong problem-solving, analytical, written, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
