Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Tasks: Interpret welding process specifications. Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes. Type of materials: Stainless steel. Steel, iron and heavy metals. Welding techniques: Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW). Gas metal arc welding (GMAW). Area of specialization: Custom fabrication. Pressure vessels. Structural construction. Process piping. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Welding helmet. Screening questions: Are you currently legally able to work in Canada?.
