 Job Description: The Opportunity: Maple Leaf Fresh Foods in Brandon, Manitoba is presently seeking a Project Engineer to join our team at our state-of-the-art facility. This position requires an individual with extensive experience in project management with the ability to multi-task in order to complete medium to large sized projects simultaneously.    Any MLF team member interested in being considered for this role are encouraged to apply online by November 26. Applications received beyond that date are not guaranteed consideration. Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:Develop and manage (Capital) project plans, operations, budgets and schedules (annual and multi-year)Provide engineering support for the operations groupAssist senior management in developing and justifying capital expenditure requestsInvestigate practical, cost-effective and innovative plant improvement solutionsUtilize and incorporate Six Sigma and other project management tools, methodology and principlesNegotiate contracts and supervise equipment vendors, service providers and contractorsActively participate in company initiatives; e.g. Innovation, Share groups, MyMLF, Energy Efficiency.Travel as required. What You’ll Bring:5 years’ experience as an engineer or Mechanical/Electrical Technologist, or 10 plus years of equivalent project experience.Proven track record of handling multiple medium to large sized projects.Team player with effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.Strong organizational, analytical and planning abilities combined with practical business sense.Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office and Project Management software).Working knowledge of industry codes and regulations e.g. OH&S, WHMIS, HACCP.Knowledge and experience with Food industry would be an asset.Fluency in the English language What We Offer at Maple Leaf Foods:Being part of a high-performance, people-focused company that has an inspiring and unique vision to become the most sustainable protein company on earth, and a deep commitment to sustainable protein across North America.An inclusive company culture and a work environment that keeps our people safe, rewards excellence, and empowers everyone to learn and contribute their best.Competitive Health and Wellness benefits that offer flexibility to meet your individual or family needs, including programs focused on improving mental health and wellbeing.
