We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Sous Chef to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping our culinary vision.
*Job Summary:*
As the Sous Chef, you will be working alongside the Head Chef to contribute to all back of house operations. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a new opening restaurant and be creative with our share-plate style menu. We are a small team which means this is a hands-on position.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Support Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu planning, inventory and training new staff.
* Act as a leader in absence of the Head Chef, including running the kitchen and all communications to the leadership team.
* Ensure dishes are prepared and presented according to the restaurant standards, with consistency and attention to detail.
* Conduct regular checks on food quality, taste, and presentation; maintain hygiene and food safety standards at all times.
* Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and ensure proper stock rotation to minimize waste.
* Ensure the kitchen complies with all health and safety regulations and that proper food handling practices are followed.
*What We?re Looking For:*
* This is a year-round position; therefore, we ask for a minimal commitment of 1 year
* 5 years? culinary experience in a fine dining establishment preferred, with 2 of those years in a supervisory position
* Passion for innovation, with a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes and exceptional dining experiences.
* Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
* Knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and health regulations
* You must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and holidays.
* A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for contributing to the success of a new venue.
