Glenmore Christian Academy (GCA) is a private Alberta accredited Christian school located in the Southwest of Calgary, Alberta, specializing in the education of children in grades K-9. GCA is a member of AISCA (Association of Independent Schools and Colleges in Alberta) as well as ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International). GCA?s mission is to Teach Truth, Inspire Excellence, Experience Christ and Server through Love. GCA has a head of school, two principals and a staff of over 125 serving approximately 1000 students. GCA has an opportunity for a full time (35 hours/week) Jr. High Educational Assistant. Under the direction and mentorship of the Resource Support Teacher as well as the Jr. High Principal, this individual will be working primarily with an individual student one on one, and with the resource team to ensure student needs are supported. Characteristics Successful applicants will possess the following characteristics: <ul> <li>A vibrant Christian faith, demonstrating the leadership of Jesus Christ</li> <li>The ability to make Biblical values an integral part of school life</li> <li>Prepared to work collaboratively with other teachers and support-staff as a member of a professional learning community</li> <li>Have strong, positive interpersonal and communication skills</li> <li>Assist students in activities to promote their physical, mental and social development</li> <li>Efficient, highly organized, and capable of multitasking</li> <li>Ability to adapt to a high energy environment with varying noise levels</li> <li>Agile and able to work closely with children at their physical levels</li> <li>Able to supervise / manage a classroom of students during breaks</li> </ul> Qualifications <ul> <li>Agrees to and adheres to the GCA Statement of Faith - without reservation</li> <li>Fluent in English</li> </ul> Preferred Experience <ul> <li>At least two years of experience, specifically working with students who have individualized learning needs is preferred</li></ul> <ul> </ul> Preferred Certifications and Education <ul> <li>Early Childhood Certificate</li> <li>Educational Assistant Certificate</li> <li>Bachelor of Education</li> </ul> While applicants need not have this aforementioned education, local candidates with the relevant certification will be given preference.
