Accessibility Consultant, Accessible NB programAny location in New Brunswick(new positions, full-time, home-based office)Ability NB is seeking passionate, highly motivated and results oriented Accessibility Consultants for our Accessible NB program. The Accessible NB Consultants are responsible for the delivery of the Accessible NB program which aims to increase the accessible, universally designed workplaces throughout NB to enhance the employability of persons with a disability through a provincial accessibility review service for employers. The Accessibility Consultants review and measure the level of access of buildings and sites and provide advice in design. Through reviews, analysis and recommendations, the Accessibility Consultants help building and site personnel understand accessibility, identify barriers for the community, customers, or employees and identifies and recommends improvements.The successful applicant must possess the following qualifications:Minimum of a post-secondary degree or diploma in a discipline related to the built environment. Equivalent experience may be considered.Highly motivated, results-driven, innovative and resourcefulExcellent planning, organizational, time-management, communication, relationship-building, numeracy and writing skillsProven ability to network and work collaboratively with employees, volunteers, diverse stakeholders and populationsKnowledge of accessibility legislation, regulations, standards and best practicesStrong knowledge of universal designHigh level of proficiency with computers and in Microsoft OfficeKnowledge of privacy legislation and demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of confidentialityPrevious experience conducting accessibility reviews will be considered an assetBilingual ability in English and French is considered an asset.Salary: $45,000 to $55,000 + benefit package.
