The position acts on referrals from Adult Central Intake. Therapeutic interventions are provided to patients with a wide range of complex needs including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating disorders and personality disorders.The responsibilities include designing, implementing and evaluating the psychological interventions provided to patients; conducting advanced, independent diagnostic interviews to expedite the formulation of an appropriate treatment approach; formulating and communicating psychiatric diagnosis using DSM-5TR; selecting and administrating comprehensive psychometric tests where appropriate, including but not limited to, intellectual assessment, personality assessment, neuropsychological screening, memory assessment and vocational/aptitude testing; interpreting psychological data for diagnostic purposes; conducting group facilitation; and monitoring/prioritizing patient wait lists according to clinical needs. The Clinical Psychologist may be required under certain circumstance to participate in same-day clinics, DoorWays single session counselling and TAO (therapist assisted online).As a clinical leader, the Clinical Psychologist provides supervision to Psychology residents, Doctoral students and provisionally registered Psychologists. The incumbent also provides clinical direction to working level Psychologists.
