Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Motel. Commercial building. Hotel, motel, resort. Tasks: Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs. Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse. Empty trash cans and other waste containers. Wash windows, interior walls and ceilings. Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs. Perform minor repairs on appliances. Perform safety and security checks. Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies. Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair. Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens. Work with minimal supervision. Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas. Repair electrical appliances and components. Perform preventive maintenance. Maintain inventory of supplies. Organize warehouse and work areas. Organize and maintain inventory. Repair furniture frames and refinish wood surfaces. Repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures and related products. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. First Aid Certificate. Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools. Equipment: Industrial vacuum cleaners/power sweepers. Carpet cleaning machine. Steam cleaners. Upholstery cleaning equipment. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Own vehicle. Valid driver's licence.
