As a Job Developer, you?ll play a vital role in empowering clients through tailored job search strategies and sustained employment support. Your work will directly impact lives by guiding individuals on their journey to meaningful and lasting employment.
*What You?ll Do: *
Job Search Support
* Develop and execute personalized Job Search Plans tailored to individual client goals.
* Coach clients one-on-one and lead workshops, group sessions, and innovative initiatives like Job Finding Clubs.
* Provide hands-on support, from job board navigation to direct employer engagement and job development.
* Leverage labour market insights to craft effective job search strategies.
* Partner with our team and community networks to enhance client outcomes and streamline the job search process.
Job Retention Support
* Design and implement Job Retention Plans to ensure clients maintain employment.
* Offer on-the-job coaching and employer support, addressing workplace challenges and fostering long-term success.
* Facilitate accommodations and customized workplace solutions to meet client needs.
* Build lasting relationships with clients and employers to achieve sustainable employment outcomes.
*What You?ll Bring *
* Education: Post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in Indigenous studies, career development, social work, human resources, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CCDP, RRP) are an asset.
* Experience: Minimum of 2 years in employment services, counseling, or a similar role, with proven experience working with Indigenous communities.
* Skills:
* Demonstrated experience in the delivery of Life/Essential Skills Training.
* Strong knowledge of Indigenous culture and practices.
* Ability to develop creative and collaborative relationships with multi-barriered clients.
* Expertise in job search strategies, networking, and coaching.
* Effective communication skills (oral and written). Multilingual abilities are a plus.
* Proficiency in MS Office and database management.
* Personal Qualities:
* Sensitivity to diverse cultural backgrounds and barriers.
* A proactive and compassionate approach to client support.
