*Job Overview*
Umbrella Law is seeking a dedicated and compassionate *Family Lawyer* to join our legal team in central New Westminster.
The ideal candidate will have some experience in a wide range of family law matters, including divorce, parenting matters, spousal and child support, property division, and domestic agreements. You will advocate for clients, guide them through legal processes, and work toward favorable outcomes with professionalism and empathy.
*Responsibilities*
* Represent clients in family law proceedings, including court appearances, mediation, and arbitration;
* Provide legal advice and guidance on matters such as separation, divorce, parenting arrangements, support obligations, and property division;
* Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents including separation agreements, marriage and cohabitation agreements, and court pleadings;
* Work collaboratively with paralegals, legal assistants, and other professionals;
* Maintain accurate records of all case-related activities and communications;
*Skills*
* Strong research skills with the ability to analyze complex legal issues effectively;
* Proficient in negotiation techniques to achieve favorable outcomes for clients;
* Exceptional writing skills for drafting clear and concise legal documents;
* Expertise in legal drafting with a keen attention to detail;
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients, colleagues, and court personnel.
*Required:*
* Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia;
* Valid BC Drivers License and access to a vehicle as travel to various court locations will be required.
*Assets:*
* Preference may be given to candidates with a fluency in a second language including Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese, Farsi, or another second language;
* familiarity with Clio software.

Pay: $60,000.00-$180,000.00 per year
