Education: Master's degree. Work setting: Private sector. Consulting engineering company. Office. Tasks: Supervise technicians, technologists and other engineers and review and approve designs, calculations and cost estimates. Confer with clients and other members of the engineering team and conduct research to determine project requirements. Conduct site visits to gather relevant information . Conduct technical analyses of survey and field data for development of topographic, soil, hydrological or other information and prepare reports. Prepare contract documents and review and evaluate tenders for construction projects. Offer mentoring. Plan and design water and waste management systems. Monitor air, water and soil quality. Conduct feasibility studies. Supervision: 3-4 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association. Resource usage and environmental studies: Environmental assessment. Computer and technology knowledge: MS Excel. MS Office. Area of work experience: Design. Waste management. Civil engineering experience: Water control system and structures. Municipal specialization: Sewers and sewage treatment. Specialization or experience: Specialized environmental skills and knowledge. Area of specialization: Water resources. Municipal or urban. Environment.
