Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. Work setting: Urban area. Rural area. Various locations. Remote location. Tasks: Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect defects. Establish NDI techniques and calibration standards. Set up, calibrate, operate and interpret magnetic particle, eddy current, liquid penetrant, acoustic emission, and infrared thermographic equipment. Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations. Instruct and supervise trainees. Maintain test result reports. Inspect or test structures and equipment for deterioration, defects or failure to comply with specifications or regulations. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : NRCAN Certification Magnetic Particle testing Level 2. Testing equipment and methods: Magnetic particle. Visual inspection. Ultrasonic. Area of work experience: Construction. Metal processing. Specialization or experience: Specialized environmental skills and knowledge. Security and safety: Basic security clearance. Enhanced reliability security clearance. Transportation/travel information: Own vehicle. Valid driver's licence. Own transportation. Willing to travel. Travel expenses paid by employer. Parking paid by employer. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Tight deadlines. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination.
