Use your skills to bridge the gap between digital tools and real-world outcomes so we can continue delivering efficient, effective services to the residents of Woodlands County.About the RoleAs the GIS Coordinator, you will: Lead the development and maintenance of the County?s GIS and spatial data infrastructure Support data-driven decision-making through spatial analysis and tailored geospatial tools Create user-friendly dashboards and visualizations to improve accessibility of information Develop and manage spatial databases, field data collection processes, and automation workflows Provide technical support and training to staff to strengthen GIS capacity across departments Collaborate on infrastructure planning, asset management, and emergency response initiatives Research and implement innovative GIS solutions that enhance service delivery, usability and operationsWhat You?ll Need to Succeed Education in GIS, Geography, Planning, or a related field 3-5 years of GIS experience, preferably in a municipal or public-sector setting Strong skills in managing and maintaining spatial datasets, including infrastructure and land- related information Proficiency with GIS platforms such as QGIS or ArcGIS Experience using automation tools like FME, Python, or PyQGIS for GIS workflows A solid understanding of coordinate systems, geospatial formats, and metadata standards Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills Valid Class 5 Driver?s LicenseHow to ApplyInterested candidates are invited to submit a cover letter and resume by email to hr@woodlands.ab.ca.
