The Director is responsible for establishing goals and objectives consistent with Council?s priorities and contributing to the strategic direction of long-term infrastructure and asset management. You will provide expertise and operational direction related to engineering, municipal water, wastewater treatment and storm water collection systems, the roads and sidewalk network and fleet services facilities, as well as critical transportation services including the harbour, airport and transit services. You will manage complex capital projects and related budgets, ensure compliance with standards, mitigate risk and provide guidance to technical staff and consultants.A strategic thinker and seasoned communicator, you understand the value of relationships and are able to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, developers, and government authorities. You have considerable knowledge related to the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of municipal infrastructure and delivery of services. Ideally, you hold a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or Project Management, are eligible for membership in APEGBC or ASTTBC and have 7+ years of engineering management experience.
