Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Evaluate daily operations
  • Select and employ trade subcontractors and co-ordinate their activities
  • Inspect subcontractors work to ensure quality and conformity with plans and specifications
  • Plan and manage budgets
  • Prepare estimates and bids for home construction, renovation and restoration projects
  • Work with customers, architects and engineers regarding plans and specifications
  • Prepare and maintain directory of supplies and trade contractors
  • Negotiate offers from suppliers
  • Hire and supervise activities of subcontractors
  • Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
  • Coordinate work activities to ensure commercial or residential projects meet requirements, budget and deadlines properties
