*Why this role is significant*
As Chef de Partie in the Arbutus Room, you play a key role in delivering a refined and approachable dining experience. Every dish reflects precision, consistency, and a strong foundation in culinary technique ? qualities that define the standard we uphold in our kitchen.
You?ll contribute to a shared section of the line, ensuring smooth, efficient service from prep through execution. Whether supporting others or stepping up during peak moments, you?re relied on for your technical skill, calm focus, and collaborative mindset. *A day in the life*
* Work in tandem with a Jr Sous or Chef de Cuisine to prepare, execute, and plate dishes from a shared section of the line
* Maintain an organized and well-stocked mise en place to support smooth service and reduce downtime
* Follow established recipes, prep methods, and plating standards with accuracy and care
* Set the tone for professionalism and teamwork through your conduct, communication, and work ethic
* Communicate clearly and professionally on the line to ensure timing, flow, and consistency
* Track inventory needs, practice first-in, first-out rotation, and help minimize food waste
* Contribute to a positive team dynamic while upholding the Arbutus Room?s expectations for quality and professionalism
*What we hope you'll bring to the team*
* One to two years of experience in an upscale or high-volume kitchen, with a solid understanding of culinary fundamentals and a drive to advance your skills
* Strong attention to detail and a sense of pride in delivering consistent, well-executed, and visually appealing plates
* The ability to remain composed, focused, and efficient during busy service, contributing to a smooth and coordinated line
* A willingness to learn, take feedback constructively, and continually improve your craft
* Reliability and accountability ? you show up prepared and ready to support the team
* A collaborative mindset with clear communication, professionalism, and a positive attitude in the kitchen
