Job details
Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Hot. Cold/refrigerated. Outdoors. Work setting: On-site customer service. Tasks: Prepare tenders and quotations. Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components. Measure, cut and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment. Provide customer service. Start up system and test for leaks using testing devices. Perform maintenance such as, recharging system with refrigerant, checking and testing regulators or calibrating system. Handle, recover and store refrigerants. Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation or heat pump systems. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Trade Certification. Working at heights training. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Air conditioning and refrigeration systems: Rooftop (self-contained). Heat pump. Filtration. Ventilation. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Attention to detail. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Steel-toed safety boots.
