Job details
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: At heights. Dusty. Noisy. Work setting: Commercial. Construction. Tasks: Instruct apprentices. Supervise other workers. Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints. Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster. Clean and prepare surfaces. Cure freshly plastered surfaces. Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners. Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife. Mix plaster ingredients to desired consistency. Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry. Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound. Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : First Aid Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Fall Arrest Protection Training Course. Working at heights training. Personal protective equipment (PPE) training. Transportation/travel information: Willing to travel. Travel expenses paid by employer. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Handling heavy loads. Large workload. Physically demanding. Tight deadlines. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Weight handling: More than 45 kg (100 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Hard hat. Safety glasses/goggles.
